Let customers speak for us
from 54 reviewsWe raise and Train Belgian Malinois & German Shepherds in Alaska . There are a lot of Options out there for a Working Dog Collar today. We decided to give Outback Hounds Collars a Go. GLAD WE DID!!Very impressed with Quality and Durability of this Product. Would Absolutely Recommend and Will Be Purchasing More .
Great collar. Secure buckle. Beautiful colors. Well made.
I have tried multiple harnesses on our Flat Coat. This one fits! It comes back far enough from his front leg elbows to not cause rubs or clumps of fur. So happy with it! The front leash attachment is a game changer for our walks - I get to enjoy them now too!!
I have 2 medium sized dogs, about 65lbs each and they wear a size large. I swear these collars are the best. I’ve bought multiple different patterns. They’re made well and they last. I also like how they’re a bit wider and have some weight to them.
We have two medium sized dogs: a 1 yo, and a 6 yo. These made it through puppyhood and still look great!
I bought this harness a few months ago, but I've been waiting for my puppy to grow into it until recently; I love periwinkle and didn't want to risk it being sold out by the time he would fit a large. He's an 8 month Basset Hound and currently about 44/45 lbs, and the large harness is a great fit for his unorthodox body. I've tended to like more basic "H style" harnesses for him previously because they allow adjustment for length to fit his long body, but this harness doesn't need it because as advertised it was designed to sit further back on the torso so it never rubs your dog's armpits or impedes their natural range of motion. The fit and finish is absolutely fantastic and it looks so stylish in addition to being functional, safe, and sturdy. The velcro neck/shoulder buckle is a bit more fiddly than a standard clip buckle, but is functional and secure. My boy isn't fussy about harnesses going over his head, but it's still a nice feature and makes it easier to get him unclipped after a walk when he's tired and wants to lay down. There's not really any reflective material on the harness; I put an LED light on him during our night walks so that's not an issue for me, but could be for some. I think it'd be great if Outback Hound offered matching collars and leashes for their harnesses, but I found some from another manufacturer that match pretty close. Overall, I'm really glad I bought this harness and would purchase another in the future someday.
Before I got the Aztec collar, my dog was a goofy-looking idiot - Now I can proudly say he is just an idiot. Thanks, Outback Hound!
Omg those collars are so amazing!! And very quality, our golden retrievers looks so beautiful on them ❤️
I have had the hardest time finding a collar that will hold up to my two rambunctious rescues. They love dirt, water, mud, and anything else they can get into. One of my rescues just turned 10 months old and is close to 100 pounds. I needed something that would hold up to the elements and rough housing. This collar is not only so beautiful, it still looks brand new after a month of use. I ordered a different collar for my smaller rescue from a different brand, and it started "fuzzing" after only a few days. After going through 6 other collars in less than 6 months, I can attest that this collar is by far the best I have purchased. It is so easy to clean, it dries very quickly, it stays at whatever size you set it to (even when my other dog tries to use it as a handle), and it is so beautiful and gets a ton of compliments. If you are on the fence about buying one of these collars, I would 100% advise you to buy it. I would buy it 10 times over because it is absolutely worth it!
These collars are not only stylish, but tough!!! They are wide so they don’t easily slip off around our pups neck, and they look so cute wearing them!! I have got a ton of comments around town!! They are made well and clean up easily! We bought one for each dog!! Next purchase will be the leashes!!!
This harness deserves 5 stars ..I do consider myself a harness snob and have bought dozens over the years . This harness is not only attractive and has all the requirements I have for safety ,the fit is perfection. ..being a basset mom I always struggle to find a great fit ..this harness is sturdy but does not bunch up on the neck or shoulders and has plenty of adjustment . I'm ordering another for my other dog asap.
This collar is so well made!! The metal buckle is super sturdy and the material is thick and durable! The print is perfect and exactly as described. The customer service is also top notch as well! I ordered 2 orders because I forgot to add my second collar before paying and I just chalked the shipping charge because I didn't want to fool with it. The next day I received a message letting me know they are going to ship them together and they refunded me the shipping!
Hello,
Here is my feedback on the outback hound leashes.
Why I originally purchased:
- Length of leash
- Round woven rope (flat leashes tangle more and the edges can cut your hand when dog lunges...like when they jump across creaks and washes during hike).
- Swivel connector between clasp and rope ( yeah, dogs run in circles).
- Smaller and lighter carabiner...so it doesn't clobber dog's head (tempered aluminum?).
- Locking carabiner. I have used many locking carabiner types. They all are somewhat fussy. The thread type are the most convenient, but, there is an exposure that you might forget to twist it on. The slide push are quick, but, slide through fingers. Your twist spring seems to be best although I wish the roughness gripped more on my fingers. They are very usable though.
What I found to like after using them a while:
- Like the quality of materials.
- Like the coating on the leash. Sometimes I am walking more than one dog at a time. The leash is just slippery enough to not get tangled. It is easy to slide out of twists and untangle.
- Just the right thickness. Not too thin and not overly fat (like slightly flexible).
- After I bought the first two and got to know how they worked, I bought a 3rd one for one of our other dogs (even though they already had a decent leash).
- It is nice to have a variety of colors to differentiate each leash in a bundle when managing tangling on the fly when walking 3 dogs.
Cons:
- Wish the colors were better, but, totally satisfied with what I got.
- Seen better night reflective thread in other leashes.
- Liked when other leashes having a loop close to the dog for emergency control of dog (getting them out of trouble...like not eating something they found heh heh).
One satisfied customer here. Would purchase again. Would recommend to others.

We bought a collar well over a year ago and it is still going strong, no issues with it whatsoever. Still feels just as strong as the day we bought it. And the design is just as bright.
